My story is a long one. And i shall reveal it to you as best I can.My name is Ichabod Oddman and I am a traveler and adventurer. I was born in the year 1892 and I am an archaeologist and adventurer. I am also a ranking member of the order of Caela Sculptoris.
I have embarked on many amazing adventures and I would imagine that if you are reading this it is because you have discovered my journal and that doesn't bode well for me. I left it to be found only in the case of my death or disappearance.
You see, Of my travels and my many interestes I have done much hunting and much stalking of wild prey. I have hunted Lions on the Savannah of Africa and Tigers in the jungles of Nepal.
There are many other wild creatures that I have tracked and triumphed over but there is one that has eluded me - The beast that breathes fire. It is often thought to be just a fable, but it truly exists. .
Now, you may laugh and say that dragons are mythical and therefore don't exist. But, I must say to you that they do exist. I have seen more than one with my own eyes. I will tell you this story and give to you proof of their existence.
But first let me say that my quest to find and slay a dragon has been a two-fold quest. Originally, having accidentally fallen upon a dragon and survived, my quest was solely about finding it, or another, again.
And this I had achieved in a sorts - you see, finding a dragon is one thing. But slaying it is another. I faced and battled a dragon to great danger and almost lost my life because of my own error. Dragon's cannot be slain with conventional weapons! No musket, no sword, no dagger nor any other normal weapon can penetrate its armor.
So, my quest and my research for many years after my second encounter with a dragon focused upon the weapon that could slay it!
And this research has brought me to embark on a quest to the land of the pharoahs. It is there that the secret to slaying of dragons lies. You see, in the time of the pharoahs there were many of the beast. They roamed the land and the sky freely. And it is to this that the ancients put much effort into mastering them. They discovered the secret! And they created a weapon.
The Box Of Osiris -
Having found the journal I have written here you no doubt have found the box that goes along with it.
Treat this box with the utmost of care because the secret to slaying dragons is held within.
So I have placed here within my journal all my notes so that you, good adventurer, can continue with the quest I undoubtly started but did not finish. And within the box of Osiris is part of the sword. In a fortnight I leave on my quest to find the remaining parts of this puzzle. But seeing as you have found this journal I have failed and I implore you to continue the quest. I beseech you to read and understand all within my journal and complete the quest.
So, I leave the quest and the secret to whatever soul may find my writings, my quest and my answer to the quest of slaying the dragon.
